CS371p Spring 2021 (Week 11)
What did you do this past week?
I got my second dose of the Pfizer vaccine and went home this weekend. I also had some gourmet bagels in Houston. I also got a haircut.
What‘s in your way?
I’m glad that a lot of my classes are reducing in workload as the semester closes. Luckily my classes are reducing in terms of finals and projects.
What will you do next week?
I still need to finish the Darwin project, so that’ll take up the majority of my time. I also need to watch some lectures again for CS345 Programming languages.
If you read it, what did you think of the Why getter and setter methods are evil?
I found it very intuitive as a lot of my previous CS classes in high school encouraged using getters and setters. They became a standard of OOP but it’s valid that they should be used sparingly
What was your experience of vector, move constructor, move assignment, and allocator?
The exercises of vectors 1–4 have really helped me understand vector better. I thought I fully grasped the concept before but the exercises were challenging and I couldn’t pass all test cases for vector3.
What made you happy this week?
I got my second dose this weekend. I’m also glad to hear classes will be inperson for Fall 2021.
What’s your pick-of-the-week or tip-of-the-week?
My tip-of-the-week is to use Duolingo. It’s great to learn a new language at any proficiency.
