CS373 Spring 2022: Varun Nayak
What did you do this past week?
I worked on Project 1 Collatz and I have done the project in C++ before so I was familiarizing myself with the code for this year’s project in Python and modify it accordingly.
What’s in your way?
My own procastination is in the way. My workload is very light in general and I don’t have too much difficult work. I have an exam on Tuesday but I expect it to not be much work since it only covers material from 4 lectures.
What will you do next week?
I will need to wrap up the project and submit it. I also have an exam on Tuesday and another project in Graphics. We are studying Ray Tracing and Phong illumination. I also plan to attend the gym regularly
What did you think of Paper #3: Continuos Integration?
I have read the paper previously and found it interesting and was able to reaffirm concepts that I had learned from using continous integration myself.
What was your experience of UnitTests, Coverage, and IsPrime?
I had done the same exercise in OOP and Generic Programming so I was ok with these topics. UnitTests are great for testing against a variety of cases. IsPrime exercise was helpful as we got accustomed to HackerRank.
What made you happy this week?
I went out in the cold weather and checked out the snow. This only happens once in a while in Texas and I have lived here my whole life.
What’s your pick-of-the-week or tip-of-the-week?
My tip of the week is to use Hitch. It is a ride share app that can get you between cities for a good rate. I have a good experience with the app.
