  1. What did you do this past week?
Last week I completed the Collatz assignment and began on my Graphics assignment for Dr. Sarah Abraham’s course. I also tried Tumble22 Chicken this weekend and I split a family meal with my friends. I also watched the SuperBowl and really enjoyed the halftime show which had some notable performers including Snoop Dogg, Eminem and Dr. Dre.

2. What’s in your way?

My own unrealistic expectations of what should happen and my own impatience. I need to practice acceptance and patience in order to complete work and feel happy.

3. What will you do next week?
I will finish up my RayTracing code for graphics with Dr. Abraham. I will also clean my room and make sure I am in Quadrant II of Covey’s time management grid.

4. What did you think of Paper #4: Pair Programming?

I have read this paper multiple times in both CS 371p and CS371g. I guess I learned a new thing each time because sometimes it is difficult for your brain to hone in on details. The methodology itself is very fruitful for those who use it and I would reccomend it to anyone who programs in groups.

5. What was your experience of exceptions and types? (this question will vary, week to week)
I am familiar with exceptions and types and the examples we have gone through in class were useful in solidifying and testing my understanding. It gets very confusing switching between programming languages and sometimes it is important to practice completing similar tasks in multiple different programming languages in order to get accustomed to the nuances of each.

6. What made you happy this week?
I tried Tumble22 chicken for the first time and was impressed at the price, quantity and quality. I also am happy it is getting warmer on some days. The weather in Austin has been a good contrast to the humidity I have been used to in Houston my whole life.

7. What’s your pick-of-the-week or tip-of-the-week?
My tip of the week is to check out the Seven Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen Covey. It is a good book that encompasses effective time management and explains the habits and lifestyles of successful people.
